Europe Shows the Way

The latest PSI show hit new heights, both in terms of visitors and exhibitors, and in the creativity on show.

So much for being 55 and showing your age. With six per cent more exhibitors, nearly eight per cent more visitors and a share of international visitors that’s climbed to 57%, PSI continued its growth trajectory and once again posted new records at the 55th event.

BPMA official media partner to Sedex

Sedex, the supplier and ethical data exchange, is having its sixth annual conference at QE2 Centre in London, on 5 April.

The Sedex Conference is the organisation’s largest annual gathering, bringing together hundreds of Sedex members and business leaders from across the globe to share ideas and learn about the issues that matter to every responsible company.

BPMA regional events gathering momentum

The BPMA regional events being held across the country in March and April are gathering pace as many members are now signing up.

Gordon Glenister commented “ We want to provide in one day so much content on best practice around compliance and service level standards  – a constant challenge for our industry.  We have produced guides from both our legal partners at Croners and Intertek on product safety.  Each event will have 3 keynote speakers. 

More exhibitors, more visitors, more internationality: PSI sets records again

So much for being 55 and showing your age. With six per cent more exhibitors, nearly eight per cent more visitors and a share of international visitors that’s climbed to 57 per cent, PSI continued its growth trajectory and once again posted new records at the 55th event. In total, organiser Reed Exhibitions Deutschland counted 988 exhibitors (prior year: 932) and 18,094 visitors (prior year: 16,810).

Merchandise World off to flying start

The new event for the promotional merchandise industry, Merchandise World, got off to a flying start when the first stands and pods went on sale on 30 November.

Those exhibiting at either Sourcing City Marketplace or the BPMA show were given a two-day priority booking opportunity. The first of these was for the premium locations in the hall. More than 60 exhibitors had called by 10am on the first day overwhelming the Merchandise World office.

Annual BPMA Christmas Lunch raises over £4500 for Alzheimer’s

The BPMA held its annual festive lunch on the 16th December at the Grand Connaught Rooms in London with over 120 guests present.  New BPMA chairman, Graeme Smith in his opening address, remarked on the success of the BPMA show earlier in the year and the new collaboration with Sourcing City with Merchandise World being good for the industry. 

Promotional Gift Award 2017 – And the winners are…

A bottle top made of silicon that can be used to reseal bottles of beer or lemonade, drinkable fruit gums, a pepper mill that sounds like an Audi sports car when grinding the pepper, a breakfast tray as a key element of a cross-media tooth decay protection campaign or the new merchandising collection of the TV station ZDF – all of these are not only excellent examples for the diversity and creativity of haptic advertising, they are indeed five of the 49 prize winners of the Promotional Gift Award 2017.

HAPTICA® live ’17: Impossible not to feel

In a (marketing) world that becomes more digital all the time, the communications with customers often become fleeting and less tangible. However, trade visitors, who attend the HAPTICA® live ’17 in Bonn/Germany will experience that marketing can also be sensual and concrete: On March 22, 2017 the “Experience of Haptic Advertising” at the World Conference Center Bonn will present marketing tools that are impossible not to feel and that convey long-lasting advertising messages to the target group.

New trade show promises to unite the industry

The BPMA and Sourcing City are delighted to announce the creation of Merchandise World.

Merchandise World, their new jointly owned event, has been formed by bringing together The BPMA Show and Sourcing City Marketplace. It will take place on
19-20 September, 2017 at NAEC Stoneleigh, Warwickshire.

The BPMA will independently run the prestigious BPMA Annual Awards Dinner on the evening of 19 September 2017, with Promotional Products Week running a week or two later, enabling BPMA members to proactively promote products discovered at Merchandise World.

Ignite race day remains a favourite

The Ignite Group returned to Warwick Racecourse on 29 September for its annual exhibition and race day.

Another record turnout of 42 supplier companies brought 54 people and 40 distributors. The weather was once again kind, even if not quite on a par with the previous year’s balmy heat wave. It should be noted that as the racing calendar returns to an October event next year.

Awards Night Recognises and Gives Back

The BPMA presented the new look BPMA awards event at Whittlebury Hall, following the BPMA Show at Silverstone. Around 250 guests from the promotional merchandise industry got together for a great evening of fun, networking and recognition. The evening was compered by director general Gordon Glenister.

Education Day Delivers Global Voices

The BPMA held its 4th Annual Education Day and was enthusiastically welcomed by members of the association – more than 90% of attendees felt that it had exceeded their expectations. Around 140 attended the event on 13 September at Whittlebury Hall, close to Silverstone where the BPMA show was held on the following day.

BPMA Show Creates the Winning Formula

The BPMA held its inaugural show at Silverstone on 14 September to great feedback from visitors and exhibitors alike. The one-day members’ show attracted almost 400 distributor visitors from the promotional gift industry with many of the larger promotional gift distributors sending almost their entire sales teams. The BPMA decided also to trial the idea of distributors inviting their customers along. Around 20 end user buyers attended and were denoted by their own different coloured lanyards.

Promotional Products Week Raises More than £11,000 for Pancreatic Cancer UK

This year’s PPW, the fourth, was different and formed part of a whole week of activity by the BPMA. 

The new look BPMA show was the main event and saw PPW teaming up with a major charity in the form of Pancreatic Cancer UK.  

Promotional Products Week’s main purpose is to raise the profile of our industry as well as creating some excitement within it. A number of members got involved. Outstanding Branding launched its own OBTV channel, which has already reached more than 5,000 views.

Change in the air at PSI

European promotional products trade show, PSI, is changing its show days from Wednesday to Friday, to Tuesday to Thursday this January.

The kick-off event will take place in Düsseldorf on 10-12 January. Another change is that, for the first time, distributors will be able to invite industry customers to attend PSI on the last day of the event.
