Merchandise World moves to June 2021 with Exhibitor Guarantee in place

News released this week has informed the promotional merchandise industry their premier event originally planned for January has now moved to June 2021. The BPMA and Merchandise World organisers, Sourcing City have been in constant contact during the last few months, planning for every eventuality as it became clear the industry would need time in the early part of next year.

Moving the date to June has been carefully considered decision. David Long, CEO/Chairman at MW organisers, Sourcing City said; ‘It is disappointing to again postpone Merchandise World and we hope everyone can see our reasoning. However, we will all meet again, and when we do, it will be the perfect opportunity for us all to drive forward with building business together!’

The top priority remains the safety of exhibitors, visitors and the operations team and measures are being put in place to achieve this. The revised show hall will have additional safety measures, such as 3m aisles throughout, a one-way system, separate entrances and exits, temperature tests, sanitation stations and more. The Ricoh will also have staged numerous events before we attend, therefore they will have expertise and experience to provide a safe environment for all.

BPMA Chair Angela Wagstaff comments ‘We considered all aspects of both visitors and exhibitors before coming to this decision; we want to see a thriving, vibrant show and the move to June will ensure everyone in our industry has the opportunity to attend. With the Coronavirus Refund Guarantee, we also believe exhibitors will be able to make informed decisions.’

The additional months before Merchandise World will allow confidence to grow and to observe the experience of other UK and European trade events taking place. Exhibitors with questions are encouraged to speak to the Merchandise World team.

Coronavirus Refund Guarantee

To help all exhibitors to plan without risk, Merchandise World have extended the following Coronavirus Refund Guarantee:

• Any exhibitor who decides to cancel their booking for Merchandise World to be held in June 2021 for any reason, before 31st March 2021 will receive a ‘no quibble full refund’.
• If the show is unable to go ahead, full refunds will naturally apply, even if we reschedule for a later date in 2021 – but our expectation and plan is for June to go ahead as the industry’s major UK event!
