Steel City Marketing’s Charity Zoom Workouts Raise Over £1000 for Local Charities

Sheffield branded merchandise distributors Steel City Marketing marked their 40th year in business via Zoom with a month of fitness workouts. Every working morning of September, business people in the UK were invited to join the team in a mini workout consisting of 40 seconds of 4 exercises. Steel City also invited wellbeing experts, fitness gurus and business leaders to start their sessions off with a motivational tip or message. The likes of James Wilson (The Sleep Expert), Natasha Gilson (Miss Motivator) and Gary Butterfield (Everyday Juice Ltd) all got involved and imparted their wisdom.

The premise behind the challenge was to start the day off feeling both physically and mentally energised and ready for the working day ahead. Promotional prizes were dished out to those who took part and donated. The three local charities the challenge was in aid of were: Cavendish Cancer Care, The Children’s Hospital Charity and Weston Park Cancer Charity.

“What started as a fun Joe Wicks style workout to raise morale with other businesses, developed into a wonderful community and became a morning ritual for myself and those involved! I was blown away by the support we received, in particular from our suppliers The Laltex Group and PF Concept who generously donated to the three life changing charities we raised funds for.

All three charities have all been so inspiring and amazing to work with and signature work out moves like the ‘Weston Park Wiggle’ have now become legendary! We may even have to resurrect the #40x4challenge with a one-off Christmas special!” says MD James Biggin.

Steel City Marketing managed to exceed their target and raised £1,211.25 which has been split between the three chosen charities.

“Thank you so much to the team at Steel City Marketing for supporting us with their #40X4CHALLENGE and raising over £1,000 split between our hospital, Weston Park Cancer Charity and Cavendish Cancer Care! We are so grateful for your support and loved getting involved with the challenge.” comments Caitlin Hallat, Marketing and PR officer of The Children’s Hospital Charity.

“At a time where our clients need us now more than ever, it’s inspiring to see the team are innovative in their way to support local charities. Fitness and mental health has been on everyone’s agenda during lockdown and the 4x40challenge was a great way to set yourself up for the day, engage with your team and support charities at the same time.” adds Corporate Partnerships Officer of Cavendish Cancer Care, Kirsty White.

“The 40×40 challenge has been a great way to keep active during lockdown and we’ve thoroughly enjoyed taking part. Our thanks in particular go to the team at Steel City Marketing and to all those who have donated. It’s thanks to the generosity of everyone involved that we can continue to be there for patients and families facing cancer, together at every step.” Charlotte Swinhoe, Weston Park Cancer Charity’s fundraiser.
