A New Look for the Steel City Team

Branded Merchandise distributors Steel City have updated their company image whilst enhancing their brand identity externally and internally with a new branded uniform.

It was a real priority for Steel City to choose the clothing collectively as a team, with an emphasis on everyone feeling happy and comfortable wearing the items both inside and outside of the office. Working alongside John Barrett at PF Concept UK Ltd, a collection of clothing was established and each member of the Steel City team selected their own personal preference.

To add to the pride felt in the new branded clothing, the team were challenged to collectively reach a target and in return were rewarded with their selected item of branded clothing.

“By having to reach a target, the reward of the clothing definitely felt much more satisfying” explains Marketing Executive Jenni Burton.

Being experts in advising and suggesting ideas to clients on how to reflect companies’ brands, and having an extensive knowledge of the branded clothing options in the market, Steel City knew exactly what they were looking for: high quality, colours that reflected their branding and a relaxed, trend-driven style.

“We wanted more of a retail, fashionable look for our branded clothing, to tie in with the team feeling comfortable as well as to create the right perception of the Steel City brand” comments MD James Biggin.

The Steel City team chose the Scotia – a lightweight down filled showerproof jacket, the Norquay – an insulated, hooded bomber jacket and the Montreal – a faux fur hooded Parka.  All of which are embroidered on the left hand sleeve simply with the Steel City icon, rather than the full name and logo. This was a conscious decision made to make the outerwear both more wearable away from the office for the team, and to create a strong talking point for others to ask – ‘What make is that jacket?’

To complement the jackets, the team also chose the Arora – a hooded full zip sweater with brushed inner, the Toss Crew neck sweater and the Ottawa – a cool fit 220g/m² polo.

“We were really pleased with how the colours matched and tied in with our branding – even down to the zip trims and linings” continues James.
