Altitude Group PLC – Directorship Change

Altitude Group plc (AIM: ALT), the operator of a leading marketplace for personalised products, announces that Martin Varley will retire from the role of Executive President on the 30 June 2018 and will step down to the role of Non-Executive Director at that time.

Following the IPO in late 2005, Martin shaped the vision and strategy of Altitude Group, guiding the company to a technology-first position in an industry historically lacking innovation. Having previously acted as Group Commercial Director and Group Chief Executive he moved to a part-time role of Group President in 2017 and has for the last 12 months been focussed on wider strategic opportunities, culminating in the appointment of Torch Partners as corporate finance advisors this month.

Peter Hallett, Non-Executive Chairman of Altitude, said:”The measure of success of a founder is the quality of the team that they build and the business legacy they leave behind, and in both respects Martin’s contribution has been substantial. Martin always made it clear to me that he saw himself as an entrepreneur, innovator and disruptor and not a line manager and his greatest contribution is undoubtedly the creation of a strong technology legacy. Martin has also worked tirelessly to identify the people that would “move the needle” and with that team now in place and delivering against the strategy that has evolved, he is confident in being able to turn his attention fully to his family, philanthropic plans and his hobby of flying.

We look forward to his contribution as a Non-Executive Director and wish him every success for the future”.
